New Job!

So my recent job search came to an end! I got a position at Microsoft's Turn 10 Studios! Official title is 3D Artist 2. I'll be doing a little bit of everything. I'm excited for the new challenge! I started last week and have been enjoying myself so far :)

So... with my new job, I'll be a bit busy and won't be able to spend as much time on some of my side projects. I am still wanting to work on them. Weekend projects! I'll post some more when I get the chance to work on them.

Daily Sketches

So I've decided to try and do a quick sketch/doodle every day. Just to work on my drawing skills. So far, I've just done little things that pop in my head. I want to try and do some life sketches too.

To see them, check out my twitter page: twitter.com/LydiaHall

I'll post a compilation of my sketches every month or so here on my blog. But to get the day to day update, follow me on twitter. :)

Enjoy!

"License to Kill" Layout

With some of my down time, I've decided to work on a little dialogue animation. I used a sound clip from the tv show Psych (love that show! lol). I've just finished doing a rough layout of the animation of the main character. I wanted to share:

Would love any feedback!

Paperman: Step by Step

If you went and saw "Wreck it Ralph" in theaters, then you were able to see Disney's short "Paperman". And if you haven't seen it yet, Shame on you! ...Just kidding... But seriously, you need to watch it. A beautiful blend of 2D and 3D animation. And a very nice story.

Here is a link to watch it:

So now you have seen it and you'd like to know how the made it look so awesome. Well here is a link to some step by step of how the short came together:
